A video showing the moment two operatives of the Nigerian military were seen engaging in a fight during the visit of President Bola Tinubu to Bayelsa on Friday has surfaced on social media.
In footage that has since gone viral on social media, a moment was captured in which one of the uniformed men stepped out of his Hilux marked “Naval Police” to exchange words with another driver.
After he got back to his vehicle, another driver carrying a rifle walked up and punched the Naval Police driver, which led to a fight.
The situation quickly turned into a fight, with people from both vehicles trading punches as shocked bystanders looked on.
As of press time, the reason for the fight was still unknown.
Reports say the fight happened as the President was leaving an official event during his visit to the state.
President Tinubu was in Bayelsa to open new projects and restated his government’s commitment to fighting insecurity across the country.
He pledged sustained investment in the nation’s armed forces, stating that his government would continue to equip and train security personnel to confront insurgency, banditry, and other violent threats.
