RMAFC SECRETARY VOWS TO STRENGTHEN DISCIPLINE, PROFESSIONALISM AND DIGITALISATION
…Says Staff Development and Accountability Are Critical to Commission’s Success
The Secretary to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, has pledged to strengthen discipline, professionalism, accountability and staff development to enhance the Commission’s effectiveness.
He made the pledge during a familiarisation and interactive meeting with staff on Wednesday 9th August, 2026 at the M. B. Shehu Auditorium, RMAFC Headquarters, Abuja.
The meeting, convened by the Director, Federal Allocation Department, and Overseeing Director, Administration and Human Resource Department, Mr Ahmed Rufai Gidado, enabled the Secretary to engage with staff, hear their concerns and outline his expectations for a more efficient workforce.
Comrade Adeyanju said his relationship with staff would be anchored on responsibility, discipline and performance. He urged employees to uphold competence, integrity and commitment to national service.
“We are professionals, and we must conduct ourselves as professionals. We must put Nigeria first and ensure that the work entrusted to us is done with the seriousness it deserves,” he said.
He emphasised the importance of continuous training and professional development, describing staff development as an investment in institutional capacity.
The Secretary also disclosed that the Commission was advancing its digitalisation programme to improve administrative efficiency and reduce delays in processing official documents.
He called for prudent management and proper maintenance of the Commission’s resources, urging staff to discharge their duties with integrity and diligence.
The Secretary assured staff that legitimate concerns would be considered through appropriate channels, while urging them to remain committed as institutional reforms and digitalisation initiatives progressed.
He reiterated the objective of building a more efficient, professional and service-oriented Commission capable of delivering effectively on its constitutional mandate.
Comrade Adeyanju commended the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Mohammed Bello Shehu, OFR, for his efforts to advance the Commission and urged staff to support the leadership in fulfilling its mandate.
Earlier, Mr Gidado described the meeting as an opportunity for the Secretary to gain first-hand insight into the Commission’s operations and strengthen communication between management and staff.
In his remarks, the Director, Allocation Department, Mr U. K. Umar, mni, commended the Secretary for creating an atmosphere for open engagement. He stressed the importance of unity, teamwork and adherence to established processes.
