The police in Ogun State have arrested a cleric, Alfa Funmilayo Fatai, for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl in the Kara area of Ibafo.
Reports said the 42-year-old Muslim cleric was caught while defiling the minor in an uncomplicated building.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta.
Babaseyi said that the police have launched an investigation into the matter to unravel the mystery behind the incident.
He said that the victim had been taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo Unversity Teahing Hosital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for medical examination and treatment.
