The green ‘wedding passport’ made sense when the stern-faced security insisted it was the first requirement to enter the compound. Each guest had to identify their names on a hanging screen before facing a panel of two apparently trained, unsmiling ladies, one of them confirming eligibility for attendance on a register, while the other tagged each cleared guest with a brown wristband. The arrangement was tight enough to ensure that no trespasser partook of the goodies.
