TimeTestedInfo ||Nigerian Police Operatives Arrest Imo Ex-Governor Okorocha In Abuja Hotel For Alleged Conspiracy, Forgery

According to security sources, the police hierarchy was forced to secure a bench warrant from a court to compel Okorocha’s appearance after he repeatedly evaded interrogation appointments.

A former Governor of Imo State and ex-Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha, has been reportedly over alleged criminal conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation.

SaharaReporters learnt that Okorocha was taken into custody on Monday night, October 12, by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force at the REIZ Continental Hotel, Abuja.

Security sources told SaharaReporters that the arrest followed Okorocha’s alleged deliberate refusal to honour repeated voluntary invitations extended to him by police authorities for questioning at the Force Headquarters.

According to security sources, the police hierarchy was forced to secure a bench warrant from a court to compel Okorocha’s appearance after he repeatedly evaded interrogation appointments.

“An initial invitation for questioning was slated for September 2, 2026. However, at the request of his legal team, the appointment was rescheduled to September 8, 2026,” the source said.

Despite the extension granted by investigators, “the former governor failed to show up on the agreed date, prompting law enforcement agencies to track him down and execute the judicial order,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Okorocha remains in police custody at the time of filing this report as investigations into the alleged criminal conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation continued.

Efforts to reach Okorocha’s media office for comments were unsuccessful.
