The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it will continue its investigation the utilisation of the N12 billion Federal government intervention fund released to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the anti-graft agency’s position.
“Investigation is ongoing on the matter,” Oyewale said.
The intervention fund, which was approved by President Bola Tinubu in 2024, was disbursed to clear outstanding wages and bonuses owed to players of Nigeria’s national teams.
Reports said that, already some officials linked to the funds have been grilled by the anti-graft agency.
This comes amid Thursday’s developments at the NFF, where Ibrahim Gusau resigned as president alongside some board members.
Gusau spent three years and 11 months in office and was preparing to run for re-election in September.
