The Delta State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday swore in 25 Local Government Area chairmen as part of efforts to strengthen its structure ahead of the party’s forthcoming national congress and ahead of general elections.

The inauguration, held in Asaba, took place during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by party leaders and members from across the state. Speaking at the event, the state chairman, Dr. Peter Adogbejiri Mrakpor, (SAN)  charged the newly inaugurated officials to return to their respective LGAs and commence the swearing in of ward executives without delay.

Mrakpor said the move was aimed at consolidating the party’s grassroots base and ensuring effective mobilisation across all wards in the state.
He expressed confidence in the new executives, describing them as disciplined, coordinated and capable of delivering results for the party.

The chairman noted that the PDP remained strong in Delta, adding that its members continued to demonstrate commitment, particularly during elections. According to him, the party enjoys the support of the masses, stressing that opposition parties posed no serious threat to its dominance in the state.

Mrakpor also disclosed that the party’s electronic registration was ongoing, noting that more people were indicating interest in joining the PDP ahead of future political activities.
