Sowore said he attended the service at the RCCG headquarters in Ebute Metta alongside the National Chairman of the AAC, Pastor Samuel Ajeigbe.

According to Sowore, he later had a private conversation with Adeboye, who offered prayers for him and expressed confidence in his political journey.

Sowore said Adeboye told him that he had been following his activities closely and was convinced that his path was “honourable”, adding that the cleric expressed confidence in his eventual triumph.

The AAC presidential candidate said the meeting was particularly significant because it was his second encounter with Adeboye at the same venue, 30 years after their first meeting in 1996.

He recalled that their first encounter came shortly after he completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, when he was involved in mobilising against campus cultism and the activities of cult gangs.

“Thirty years later, we met again at the same place,” Sowore said, describing the encounter as deeply appreciated.

He thanked members of the church for their warm reception and expressed appreciation to Adeboye for the private conversation and prayers.

Sowore, however, stressed that his attendance at the service was not intended to promote a political agenda.

He shared details of the encounter on X with the hashtags #Sowore2027, #AAC and #TakeItBack.
