The Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman, Thursday, apologised to Nigerians over the power outages being experienced across the country.
The development, according to the statement, was caused by the breakdown of some National Integrated Power Plants supplying electricity to the national grid.
The minister in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Aaron Artimas, in Abuja, also disclosed that the Jeba power plant was also shutdown for an annual maintenance.
He said seven other integrated power plants, namely; Geregu, Sepele, Omotosho, Gbarain, Omuku, Paras and Alaoji were experiencing gas constraints while the Shiroro plant had water management problems.
“The Ministry of Power is not unaware of the current power outages/shortages bedeviling many parts of the country. The problem is caused by the breakdown of some National Integrated Power Plants supplying electricity to the national grid.
